How to Peel an Entire Head of Garlic in Under a Minute!
Fresh garlic has a ton of health benefits and is a super tasty addition to meals as well. Some dishes actually require garlic.
Do you avoid using garlic because its a pain to peel? Do you hate the pre-peeled, pre-minced jarred variety of garlic? Same here. It’s just not the same as the real deal!
The problem with fresh garlic is that it can be quite annoying to work with since it is so difficult to peel the papery skin off. It can leave you with smelly fingers and garlic under your nails.
While there are several kitchen tools available to help you with peeling garlic, you many not feel like spending the extra money or taking up extra space.
How To:
Fortunately, there is a kitchen hack to help you peel an entire head of garlic in under a minute! All that is required is two cake pans, which most people have on-hand already in their kitchen.
- Start by roughly breaking up the garlic and placing it all into the pan.
- Then cover it with the other cake pan.
- Shake! Shake! Shake! Shake vigorously for a few seconds.
- Viola! Your garlic is peeled.
- Note: If you don’t have cake pans, you can use metal bowls instead.
Storing Your Garlic:
Use the garlic you need and save the rest for up to a week in the refrigerator. If you’re not going to use it within a week, you can save it by covering it in olive oil, storing it in an air-tight freezer bag or container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
